In this episode George meets a father of three trying to build a homemade campervan for less than the cost of a family caravan holiday – with 3000 cds, a floor made from old vinyl records and the most ingenius toilet ever featured on the show, it’s a small build with huge ambitions.
Also in this show is a single Dad creating a home for him and his kids on the water – by renovating an oil rig escape pod. If the build wasn’t challenging enough, a test run nearly scuppers the whole project.
On his German road trip, George travel to the Tyrolean mountains where he sees a house that looks like a cross between a large bird and UFO and is packed with some very clever design tricks that make the most of the stunning mountain location.
And as their floating beach hut idea begins to take shape, George and master craftsman Will Hardie travel to Southend where a knackered, former WW2 lookout shed is ready to be the backbone for their unique build – if it survives the trip back to the workshop.
